Himalaya Inter College

Himalaya Inter College (HIC) provides world-class elementary, middle and high school education for the youth of the Himalayas. Situated in Chaukori, Uttarakhand, India, it was founded by the Karki family in 1999 with 5 children in a donated cowshed. Today, HIC provides quality education from nursery to class 12 to over 900 students.

Himalayan Naari’s Women’s Center is located at HIC and many of the artisans are mothers of HIC students. HIC’s leadership and staff have worked in partnership with the women’s collective by providing tremendous support and many priceless resources.
