Himalayan Education Foundation (HEF) is a small, dynamic, not for profit organization that focuses on strengthening communities in the Uttrakhand State of the Indian Himalayas.

HEF’s approach is multi-faceted, working very closely with local leaders to develop and provide opportunities for adults and scholarship support and curriculum development for village schools. HEF’s work strives to meet the unique needs of each mountain community.

This approach led HEF to respond to the invitation from the women of Chakouri and Munsiyari to help them expand their economic independence.
